The flowers and trees are awake again and are they a sight.

I have been travelling a lot in the last month to and from various appointments and as I was driving the other day I was enamored by the trees.
They were swaying in the warm summery breeze and undulating in such a way that it looked like they were stroking each other's hair. Almost as if they were saying to each other, I missed you so much, I am so glad that you are here. There was such emotion in the movements.
The trees are covered in little white and pink and purple blossoms and vibrant new green leaves. They look soft-focused and like they would be fuzzy and soft to touch.

There is a ground cover that grows here in the early spring and it's purple. There is a farm on the way home that is blanketed with it from the front porch to the road. I can't even come up with words to describe what a joy it is to drive past it and see that lavender field.

The fog in the mornings is so ethereal and moving. I want to get up at 6AM every day just to see it, but I am afraid that it would lose it's awe if I did.

I am just smitten with Tennessee in the spring.

Great...I'm already smitten with springtime in Kentucky, Arizona and Washington (state, not DC). Now I'm smittedn with sprintime in Tennessee, too! Beautiful, just beautiful.
And from my neck of the woods, the black squirrels are definitely twitterpated!
Enjoy!
Hey, it's Thursday! You know what that means? kMimi loves me more today than I love her! Yea!
I'm having separation anxiety; my coffee's gone.
Here's a nifty idea: should we have an Aunt Margot Day on April 14? We haven't been bowling in awhile!
That would be so much fun!!!
I am so lost and turned around, I thought today was Wednesday! LOL
I do love you more than you love me today, it's in the bylaws.
I can't love you more than Kelly loves both of us, though. That's in the bylaws, too.
Thirteen!
the kMimi countdown:
i only have seven get-ups until i get kMimi'd!
I like seven get-ups more than 11 1/2 more days! LOL
Time once again for our weekly Karaoke Update!
It's springtime in Wisconsin, too. It's just not as pretty yet. Or as warm.
I just returned to Chez Rathunde North after yet another Friday evening at the Village Tap in the booming metropolis of Lyons, WI. And I promise you, it isn't warm here. Take it from the woman who neglected to bring a coat; it's a long walk from the municiple lot to home.
But tonight I did actually use my head for something other than sitting atop my neck and looking pretty. I put my Birkenstocks on before I walked home, rather than taking the walk in the heels. My feet are thanking me.
I was late getting to the Tap tonight. I took a nap after work, then took a blissfully hot shower. There's a window in my shower, so when I open it while the hot water's pouring out, it brings in fresh air and makes it very steamy in there; delightful! So I was all clean and comfy and I really didn't feel like getting in the car and driving an hour. My robe was very comfy. But off I went.
And halfway down the stairs, my feet stopped cooperating. I'm sure I was a sight to behold as I fell down the stairs, arms flailing, trying to stop or at least slow down. I am going to hurt tomorrow.
Walked into the Tap at about 10:30 to hear Nemo halfway through "How Do You Like Me Now?" I love love love love love that song! It was very cool to catch it. And may I say right friggin' now that I like Nemo singing it better than Toby Keith?
But enough about me, let's talk about Aimee. She's having a rough night, and it's not looking like tomorrow's gonna be a helluva lot better, so send the good karma her way. Think happy thoughts and say a prayer to whomever you believe in; it can't hurt!
Angel was there earlier this week than last (and earlier tonight than last night, but we won't talk about that because Kelly doesn't know I went out last night. Shhhh...don't tell her.) Both Angel and Libby are tan in preparation for trips to sunny climates - Angel to Mexico on April 13 (opening night of Godspell!) and Libby to Vegas on...she doesn't love me enough to tell me. I'm behaving and trying not to drone on about the dangers of fake baking and how skin damages causes premature aging...
Angel flashed me while I was singing "Torn". Her white bra was quite stunning against her tan skin. Her belly is very tan! And she was wearing this pretty white t-shirt with sparkles...it was just the right amount of pretty.
Steve was there! Steve was also more than a little tipsy, but we love him anyway. He danced with me to some of my favorites, so tomorrow my quads are gonna hurt right along with my back, and everything that already hurts from rehearsal.
Dale sang "Sweet Transvestite", and quite frankly it is strangely hot and I can't quite figure out why. Aubri sang "How Far" and made me cry; how far should I walk to get away from Christopher? And should I wear the heels or the comfy shoes to take that walk? Kevin continues his quest of new songs. I put three in tonight, and Dale only played one. Kevin puts new stuff in and actually gets to sing it. I must not be living right. Kelly sang "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" and shamed Stockard Channing into retirement. Angel was singing "Black Velvet" during our midnight dial-a-shot and kMimi wants to hear it in two weeks. I guess Angel will be singing in Puerto Vallarta.
But for now, I'm home (well, home-ish; I'm still in the Dairy State) and happy it's the weekend.
Hey, Nemo! Before I completely forget, kMimi asked me to tell you that you have two weeks - count 'em, two! - before she comes for a visit, and she'd like to have whatever shot it is you create for her then. So will have a midnight kMimi shot on April 13, if you don't drop the ball! (Coincidentally, that's opening night of Godspell, so maybe well be celebrating?)
This is me, signing off for this week. I'm sure there's more to say, but girl is tired and needs sleep. BUT, suffice to say that if you're reading this, I love you and send you happy thoughts for a wonderful week (or two!) until we meet again.
ONLY SIX MORE GET UPS!!!
and I love you, too!
Thanks for the update, I love reading them and thinking about how much fun we always have at the Tap with Aimee and Kevin and Nemo and Dale and Angel and Kelly and I don't know Libby, yet and Steve...hey, no Harold this week?
I'm sorry to hear that Aimee is having a rough time. I am sending good thoughts and happy vibes her way.
I was pleasantly surprised by dial-a-shot, but enjoyed it thoroughly!!!
I am so glad that you called back so I could say hi to Nemo, that was really nice. And Nemo, how you doin'?
How are you feeling today, Squeeg? Glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly falling down the stairs.
Dammit! Angel is not supposed to go on vacation before I get there!
I don't want it to be two more weeks...I want it to be now ::stomping feet and whining:: now now now!
I have one more request before I finish my whine...
It MUST be a two tree night on Friday the 13th, in honor of opening night and me!
I love you all more than you like six!
Oh, and I call crossbow.
I call Aubri's Banana Butt because it will win against ANYTHING!!
Smooches!
i hurt. the only part of me that doesn't hurt right now is my left thumb. falling downstairs + dancing with steve + rehearsal + 40-year-old me = ouch.
but it's a good pain.
sorry i forgot to mention Harold from the Friday night update. yes, he was there, and so were Cheryl & Molly. (pssst: don't tell Harold I forgot to blogment him. I don't want him to stop loving me!)
only five more get-ups!
Tell my favorite four year old...eight more BIG sleeps!!!
Don't worry, Harold cannot stop loving you ever, it's in the bylaws.
OMB! I need to see these bylaws!
hey kimmi baby cant wait to see you and im lil scared to have all my girls there but i can step up to it
and the red-headed-sluts are ready for you
red-headed-sluts? who dat?
Red-headed sluts? Oooo, I'm intrigued, tell me more!
it's cold here today. yesterday it was 70 degrees. today, we'll be lucky to hit 40. girl is very cranky.
It's freezing here today, Margot. The high is only 60. Brrrrrrr. Of course it's supposed to be down to 38 tonight. That is a little chilly.
It stormed last night and Mike came in and asked if our rain was the same storm as the snow in WI. hehehehehe
oh, aren't you just Miss Funny Pants today, Lisa? did you wear your parka? enjoy the weather, dearie, and know that your Northern family wishes we were there!
No parka, but I had on a long sleeved shirt AND a sweater. I even had the sweater buttoned. It was brutal.
Hey, we even had to turn off the fans and close the windows!
you guys suck.
i had to put my winter coat back on today. bite me a lot.
I was a little chilly in my sweater this morning at 6:30...
it's fucking cold in Illinois, where I am wearing gloves again.
Hey, it's like SPRING in TN again!
It went from the 90's during the day and 60's at night to the 50's during the day and upper 20's at night.
Chilly, but not horrible--well, having to turn the heaters on at night again, that kind of bites. But, I really LIKE spring. It's pretty.
bite me, Tennessee. you can lick my ex's nutsack.
Okay, that's just mean.
Apparently you blogmentted before coffee.
I'll give you this opportunity to see the error of your pre-coffee judgment and reword that.
Spring IS pretty.
i see the error of my ways.
i found it on my way to Caribou.
Although not as good at Starbucks, Caribou is still nummie.
Glad that you found liquid calm.
Apology accepted.
I see the error of my ways.
Apparently I have never had a Cherry Mocha at Caribou.
OMB, it was liquid desire and carnal pleasure.
You can find the error of your ways on the way to Caribou anytime you want, as long as you take me wiht you!
